Coeur d’Alene based Tree Medic Tree Services, owned by Ryan Wichman, has recently acquired Specialty Tree Services, Inc. and its subsidiary business, Tree Removal Services, from longtime arborist and owner, Ken Roberge.

Specialty Tree Services, Inc., which has served the region for nearly 40 years, will now operate as a subsidiary of Tree Medic. Together, the companies provide comprehensive tree and landscape services to residential and commercial clients throughout North Idaho.

“Specialty Tree Services and Tree Medic have been working together for decades,” said Wichman. “Ken has been referring clients to the Tree Medic for pruning and tree care treatments for years – and I’ve referred a great deal of large tree removal business to him. It’s just a great fit for the two companies to come together.”

Specialty Tree Services is known for working with very large, hazardous, and/or dangerous trees, as well as providing stump grinding, tree trimming, and forestry cleanup and fire fuels reduction services.

“We’ve been in business almost 40 years,” said Roberge. “Ryan has been in the business for 24 years, so this acquisition combines a wealth of experience in tree care services. The combined companies will continue to provide top-quality tree services by our team of experienced, certified arborists.”

In addition to tree removal and trimming, Specialty Tree will now offer plant care expertise from the Tree Medic to keep client’s trees and shrubs healthy and thriving. Tree Medic specializes in tree and shrub care, including disease and pest prevention and control, pruning services, tree planting, and inventory services and landscape and tree maintenance.

“Our services cover the life of a tree, from planting services to removal,” Wichman said.

The business will remain at its current location in the Industrial Park off of Atlas Road in Coeur d’Alene.
